I like P.F. Chang’s China Bistro a lot. It is always spacious and full of people. They always have few young and beautiful girls to greet you at the reception.
Recently, a team of our business partners came from east coast to Silicon Valley to visit us. On the first day, we invited our partners for dinner. One of the partners had a prior dinner arrangement and had to leave earlier. We drove our other guests back to hotel and then decided at the last minute to go to P.F. Chang’s for dinner at Down Town San Jose. The food came in quickly even through there were a lot of people there. The food tastes very good, of course with a twist of western style, not exactly the most original Chinese flavor you would find in Mainland China. Our guests were pretty pleased with the choice of the place and the food.
When we were just about to leave, somebody suddenly patted on the shoulder of one of our guests. You know what? It is so surprising that the other partner who had left earlier for dinner engagement had in fact came a long way with his friends to dine also at P.F. Chang’s. What a coincidence! Our guests were all so thrilled about this unique experience, and would like to visit other P.F. Chang’s as well next time. It is really showing the popularity of P.F. Chang’s among ordinary business people who love Chinese food.
One of the small disappointing part of this particular restaurant is that we were not served by young girls (no discrimination, please), while in some other P.F.Chang’s, there are usually some lovely young ladies serving the table.
There is one other thing that needs to be pointed out that they do not have an online reservation system yet. They also do not have the online ordering on their web site so that people can order food early at work time and pick up on their way home. Pretty inconvenient for the Internet generation. Not consistent with their overall good image.
For example, I like to use the online order and reservation service from www.YummyOrder.com, to order food from Chinese restaurants in Cupertino such as www.PotStickerKing.com, and to make reservation from French restaurants in Saratoga such as www.GervaisRestaurant.com. Pretty cool and convenient, and above all, it is free!
